The verification of each BWMS installation through commissioning testing will become mandatory on June 2022 by the entry into force of Regulation E-1 of the IMO Ballast Water Management Convention. Flag administrations have been encouraged to start commissioning testing as soon as possible, and some administrations have already implemented commissioning testing.
